Team

Wait... what do running and sustainable development have in common?

Well - Making a change towards a more sustainable future is about pushing what humans are capable of, disrupting the status quo of what we perceive as the norm.

And yes, we all know that finding motivation is not always easy, and at times it can be painful getting started. But we all know that - especially on the long run - it is the healthy choice, and we usually do feel better afterwards giving this sense of satisfaction and fulfilment.

And with how painful and depressing the current outlook on our future might be, we need hope, collaboration and innovative ideas to change the status quo. We need that “I can do this spirit!”.

At the same time, sustainability is on the radar of more and more people and I am so happy to see so many smart people pushing innovation and initiatives for a meaningful change. Bit by bit the narrative is changing. Every step counts.

But well, let's also do a reality check, we are not there yet and there are simply still a lot of people out there that simply are not aware about the urgent need of our actions towards a more sustainable future. And it all starts with that: AWARENESS.

This is the reason I started the Footprint For The Future initiative where we strive to increase awareness of the sustainable development goals by creating a community of sport enthusiasts that show day-in day-out that every step counts.

Now it is time to start push the status quo. And we need you to help raise awareness.

Dependent on the interest in each country & city, we will start organising regular training sessions using Strava. In that way, you can connect to fellow FFTF runners! If you are interested take the lead in your country / city, please send an email to me at dbeemsterboer@me.com

To help us spread the word, please share this page with your friends, social media & colleagues.
